Moodle integration for Shopify
The Moodle integration gives the customer access to the right course in Moodle when the course is bought in Shopify: a user is created if missing, and the customer is enrolled in the course that matches the product. It runs as a Make.com scenario in your account and can be extended with access periods, course levels and email flows.
- 01 shopify → moodle
paid order → user + enrolment · real time
What it is
Moodle is an open-source learning platform. Shopify sells the course, Moodle delivers it, and the flow between them is ours.
Why it matters
Course providers who enrol students by hand lose time and get unhappy customers waiting for access.
What flows
| Data | Direction | When | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| paid order → user + enrolment | shopify → moodle | real time |
How we implement it
- 01MappingWhich products correspond to which courses, the access period, and what happens on refunds.
- 02Setup in Make.comWebhook on paid order, lookup by email in Moodle, user creation and enrolment through Moodle's API.
- 03Test on real purchasesThe first purchases are followed from checkout to course.
- 04Go-live and monitoringErrors are flagged with order number and course.
Frequently asked questions
Do we own the Moodle integration ourselves?
+–
Yes. Make.com scenarios live in your account, and code is delivered with source. We run it for you if you want, but you are not locked in to us.
What happens when a run fails?
+–
Every run is in the history with input and output data. Errors are flagged with a reference, and we clean up together. There is no automatic rollback, and we say so plainly.
Can we start with courses and expand later?
+–
Yes. Most start with one flow, such as orders, and add inventory or customers afterwards.
How long does setup take?
+–
Make.com flows are delivered in days once mapping is done. Custom code takes longer, and we give a timeline after the first call.
- Podio bookings to ShopifyThe Podio integration turns bookings in Podio into orders in Shopify, sends cancellations back to Podio, and triggers an invoice in Tripletex when the rental has been delivered, not when it was booked. It runs as Make.com flows with a payment link, shipping labels via Profrakt and lookups by email.
- Google Sheets integration for ShopifyThe Google Sheets integration sends orders, form submissions or cancellations from Shopify and the website into the spreadsheets the team already works in, for pick lists, consolidated invoicing or follow-up. It runs as a Make.com flow in your own account and is the simplest way to get data out of Shopify and in front of people.

- Booking and otherFor when the sale starts somewhere other than checkout. Bookings from Podio and IZY become Shopify orders, users are created in Moodle when a course is bought, and form submissions land in Google Sheets. Make.com flows that are easy to read and change.
- Shopify connected to the systems you already useA Shopify integration connects the store to the systems that run the rest of the company: accounting, order management, warehouse, shipping, payments and marketing. We build them in Make.com when the flow should be visible and easy to change, and in code when volume or logic requires it. Documented data flow, and the scenario lives in your own account.
